Can girls join scouts?

Answering common questions about taking part in Scouts

At Godalming Scouts, we're proud to be an organisation that supports young people of all genders. Girls can join Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and learn the life skills they need to succeed.

In fact, over 25% of young people who take part in scouting in the UK are female! And according to World Scouting, more than 14 million girls are participating in scouting worldwide.

Here in Godalming, Scouts provides fun and adventure to hundreds of girls in all sections. Find out more about joining us at Godalming Scouts here.

Throughout history, women have been at the heart of the development of scouting in the UK. Vera Barclay played a leading role in developing scouting when she co-founded Cubs in 1916.
