Whatever your skills, experience or time availability, there's a volunteer role perfect for you. Being a scouting leader or adult volunteer is fun and flexible.
Sign up as a volunteer and we'll help you find the right role within scouts
Get support from some initial training to help you get started (you'll also be required to complete a DBS check)
As well as gaining externally recognised skills and having a brilliant time, Scouting also offers the chance to build on personal skills, like teamwork, confidence and leadership. A study found that over 90% of our volunteers believe that the skills and experiences they have gained through Scouting have been of relevance to their working or personal lives.
There are loads of different types of volunteer roles available in scouts besides being a leader. We always need volunteer support to help with administration, finance, management and events.
As long as you're over 18, you can become an adult volunteer. If you're younger, you can take part in the young leader programme or volunteer with us as part of your D of E awards.
