With a new scout troop at 2nd Godalming just around the corner, volunteers across the district helped to run a recruitment evening for young people and leaders to see what scouting is all about.
Activities on the night included cooking bread twists and toasting marshmallows over a campfire, putting up tents and learning how to whittle a whistle out of bamboo.
After the recruitment evening, the adult volunteers at 2nd Godalming are now preparing for the next stage of the process of starting the group, where they are asking parents and carers to come to a meeting and find out more.
Everyone is welcome to come along, even if they were unable to attend the first session.
