Local Scouts volunteers win Mayor's Volunteering Awards

A huge congratulations to Mick and Sue, our volunteers who run the Godalming Scout Shop, for being presented with the Godalming Town Council Mayor's Volunteering Award!

During the pandemic, Mick and Sue helped to keep Scouts going by posting out and delivering loads of badges and uniforms to young people, allowing them to continue to participate in the programme from home.

And week in, week out, you can find them selling Scouts supplies from their store at The Burys Scout and Guide HQ. The shop is open on Tuesday nights during term time.

This Award was first presented in 2005 in recognition of local people carrying out a voluntary service in Godalming for the benefit of the community of Godalming Town. The winners names are placed on an Honour Board in the Town Council offices.

Mick and Sue were presented with the award by the Mayor of Godalming, councillor Michael Steel at the town meeting on Thursday 17th May 2022.

Well done to them both and congratulations on this hugely well-deserved recognition!
