Opening Times?
Tuesday evenings during school term-time, 7.00 to 8.30 pm. Closed in half-term week.
We supply uniform and badges for Scouts at all levels, from Beavers to Fellowship. Regretfully we do not stock uniform for Rainbows, Brownies or Guides.
How?
Routine items of the young people's uniform are held in stock - Leaders or parents can call in on a Tuesday evening, preferably bringing the young person with you!
[I'd like a Beaver sweatshirt, please. - Yes, fine. How big's the Beaver? - Er…]
For anything that will need to be ordered (including Leader uniform) either call in, ring the number in the District Directory, or e-mail us.
How long to order?
If what you want is not in stock, it is normally ordered within 24 hours and often arrives by the following Tuesday. Some items may take longer.
Uniform comes from Outdoors in Croydon, and badges from Lancing. Staff at both branches are very helpful, but of course they are themselves dependent on the manufacturers!
How much?
You pay for what you buy, at the time you take it away with you! Only cash or cheque (supported by a valid bankers card) accepted.
If we have to order something in for you, we do not expect payment in advance.
Notes for Leaders
It is very helpful if Leaders can give us as much notice as possible if they have a number of young people coming up for investiture, or embarking on a particular badge. That way we can make sure we have enough in stock, or warn you if we haven't! For cash-flow reasons we do not hold a large stock, and in any case there is occasionally a hold-up (e.g. we have recently waited three months for a delivery of scarves!).
If we are down to our last three items, what do we do when six parents arrive all expecting to get the uniform in time for investiture that Friday?
Please make sure that parents know exactly what they are to buy, and what will be supplied. Some groups supply the scarf on investiture; some supply the scarf and the woggle; some supply the scarf, the woggle and the handbook; some like the children to buy the official trousers, even if they aren't compulsory; we can't always know your preferences!
