Five Years growth in scouting nationally with 5.4% increase in last year. Total membership just under 500,000. Teenage membership increased 26% since 2001.
On the 1st August 2007 the second century of Scouting began. The largest world-wide youth organisation with over 28 million members began with a camp for 20 boys on Brownsea Island.
